Red River Valley Gymnastics has a diverse and experienced staff, each with a unique background in the sport. Our coaches strive to develop a love for the sport of gymnastics and our goal is to see that every child who participates in our programs receives the same quality instruction regardless of their age or ability.
Office Manager/Billing Coordinator
Hi. My name is Amber Ann Asplund. I’m from Isanti, Minnesota. I am the youngest of four children along with my twin brother Tanner. I am going to school for Human Resources / Business Management. I started working at RRVG in the Fall of 2012, I originally started as a coach but in the Spring of 2015 became the billing coordinator. My favorite part of my job is seeing all the smiling faces as the children walk into the front doors of RRVG.
Aloha, my name is Nicole Bylin. I grew up in a small town of 155 people called Adams, North Dakota. I am attending UND for Public Administration with minors in Psychology and Political Science. I was in gymnastics for 15 years and coached 3 years prior to RRVG. I started working here Fall of 2014.
Hi! my name is Meghan Dempsey, and I am from Grand Forks. My boyfriend Tanner and I have a beautiful baby girl named Gwendelyn. she was born in June, 2015 and we can’t wait for her to start in our preschool classes. As a family, we enjoy spending time with friends/family, traveling, cooking, and just hanging out! I been a gymnastics coach for 7 years. I first started at RRVG in our rec, preschool, acro and pre-team programs. I moved to Minneapolis for 3 years and worked closely with preschool director at mini-hops gymnastics. when I returned to RRVG, I become the preschool coordinator. I absolutely love what I do! I am taking course to become a better coach as well as program coordinator. I look forward to growing our preschool program and helping kids to succeed in all aspects of life!
High School Head Coach
Hi my name is Courtney Engel. I am from Maple Grove, Minnesota. I graduated with a degree in Anthropology and Psychology in December 2013. In Fall 2015 I returned to UND to pursue a non profit leadership Minor. I started gymnastics when I was 2 years old. I went to Twin City Twister until I was a level 6 gymnastics, then I moved to Midwest gymnastics for levels 7-9. After breaking my arm I decided to join the Maple Grove High School Gymnastics team. I competed for Maple Grove for 4 year. I started coaching at RRVG in the summer of 2011 and never left. My favorite part about coaching is watching the “light bulb” moments when a gymnast figures out a new skill.

Hi. My name is Katrina Evans. I am from Arden Hills, Minnesota. I am the young of three children, and the only girl. I started gymnastics when I was 7 year old and compared in USAG through my senior year of high school. I am in my third year of college at the university of North Dakota, studying pre-physical therapy. I started working at RRVG January of 2014.
Hola. My name is Gabe. I was born in Peorsall Texas, rasied in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. I am married to a beautiful women and have 2 terrible but handsome sons. I like doing whatever they do. I have now been at the gym for about 4 years. Favorite thing about my job is the setting! Can’t stop moving once I enter the building. Oh Ya! I clean and maintain the RRVG Building.

Hey! my name is Megan Elizabeth Johnson. I am from Grand Forks. I am the oldest of two, my brother is two years younger than me and is my best friend. I am a senior in high school and I go to Red River. I started working at RRVG in the spring of 2014. I have been a gymnast my whole life so I have been at the gym for about 14 years. My favorite part of my job is watching one of the children I coach, move up.

Hi, my name is Sam Olson. I’m from St. Paul, Minnesota. I am going to school at UND for Elementary Education with a minor in middle school science. I have been working for RRVG since March of 2015, and as the Xcel Program Coordinator since June 2015. I was a gymnast for 14 years before deciding to become a coach. I love working with all of my girls and being able to watch them gain new skills!

Hello, My name is Andrea Alexis Ruberg. I was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. I have an old sister and a younger brother. I am attending UND for Elementary Education with a Minor in Special Education. I started at RRVG Fall 2012. And now I am the special event coordinator here at the gym.
Hello, my name is Robert James Treuer, but most people call me Robby. I was born in Zambrota, Minnesota, but grew up mostly in Grand Forks. I had done a little over 13 years of gymnastics before becoming a coach after my graduation. I am glad to be working at the very same place. I grew up in and it is great to work with children!
